Overview
Microsoft Health Futures is seeking a Research Intern to contribute to the field of rare disease genomics using biomedical AI. The intern will work on integrating and reasoning on vast amounts of biological data to make a significant impact on human health.
Responsibilities
The Research Intern will collaborate with mentors and fellow researchers, analyze genomic datasets, build models, and present findings. The intern will be involved in every stage of the research process, from problem formulation to data exploration to model development.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a graduate program in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Genetics, Genomics, Bioengineering, Biology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with genomic data
- Experience working with natural language processing
- Experience with data science and machine learning
- Experience with programming (ideally Python)
Compensation
The base pay range for this internship is Applied Sciences IC2: USD $5,090 – $10,120 per month. Specific ranges apply to different locations, with higher pay in the San Francisco Bay area and New York City Metropolitan area. The base pay range for Applied Sciences IC3 is USD $6,290 – $12,170 per month.
