Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- GSK Microbiologist Vacancy Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology, molecular biology, immunology or related field with 1 to 3 years of relevant research experience
- Prior experience working with instrumentation associated with cell culture, biochemical assays and molecular biology
- Proactive and highly self-motivated with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organization skills with the ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment
- Proficient with standard office products including graphing programs such as GraphPad Prism
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
- 1 to 3 years pharmaceutical, biotechnology or academic laboratory experience working in a matrixed drug discovery project team
- Demonstrated experience working with mammalian primary cell culture
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities

- Perform assay development using molecular, biochemical and cell-based assays to support drug discovery against host targets associated with infectious disease.
- Execute in vitro assays such as SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, RNA extraction, qRT-PCR, lentiviral transduction, and gene silencing with siRNA for target validation and discovery of new therapeutics through activity and mechanism of action studies.
- Interpret, record, and present complex biological data at group meetings and other company meetings
