Bio-Rad is seeking a Summer Bioinformatic Intern! In this role, you will be part of the Software Development and Analytics team supporting the development of the Next Generation Sequencing cloud applications. You will be assigned a mentor and work within one of the functional disciplines in the Digital Biology Group. How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Design/code/test new features for NGS cloud products.
- Work with Bioinformatics sub-team to coordinate development of new features and resolve issues.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a wider team.
- Ability to present data from capstone project to a broad audience.
What You Bring:
- Third- or fourth-year student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related discipline OR if you are currently pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related discipline.
- Experience working with Amazon Web Services or other cloud-based computing environments.
- Experience using command-line utilities in a Unix environment.
- Experience writing code in Python and/or R.
- Excellent interpersonal/communication skill.
- Experience with common bioinformatics tools for assessing data quality a plus.
- Basic understanding of NGS data/workflows is a plus.
- Experience building Web Applications is a plus.

Compensation
The estimated hourly range for this position is $25 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, and is based on various factors. This position is also eligible for a variable annual bonus.
