Basic Qualifications for Pfizer Life Science Job
- BS in Life Sciences is required (preferred biochemistry or chemistry).
- Must be highly motivated, organized, productive, detail- and team-oriented. The successful candidate will have a track record of effective delivery and teamwork working in a matrixed environment.
- Pfizer Life Science Job Good understanding of cutting-edge bio-analytical techniques around LC/MS and hands-on experience with LC/MS-based assays is required.
- Ideally, the candidate should have first-hand experiences in at least one of the following areas: protein biophysics assays, in vitro ADME, pharmacology, or high-throughput bioanalysis.
- Experience with automation and liquid handling systems will be a plus, so does the experience in troubleshooting of bioanalytical instruments.
- Demonstrated scientific knowledge and skills to maintain a high level of performance.
- Good verbal and written communication skills are essential. A track record of effectively interacting with client groups to present data analysis is required.
- The candidate must be able to prioritize his/her own work with minimum direction from supervisor.
- The candidate will be required to demonstrate bioanalytical scientific leadership by contributing to the community of practice, and in mentoring junior colleagues/contractors to develop bioanalytical skills.

- Candidate with at least one-year relevant industry experience in bioanalysis is highly preferred.
- Experience with affinity selection mass spectrometry or high-resolution mass spectrometry is highly desirable.

No repetitive heavy lifting would be involved however the ability to move 1-gallon reagent bottle comfortably is required.
Role Summary
The candidate will serve a critical role within HDO’s in vitro bio-analytical technology team. His/her key responsibilities involve conducting Hit ID support using Affinity-Selection by Mass Spectrometry (ASMS) approaches, as well as bioanalytical support for in vitro absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME) and pharmacology studies in support of small molecule drug discovery programs. Other responsibilities include implementing and developing ultra-high-throughput bio-analytical platforms for various chemical, pharmaceutical, and ADME screens.

This person will learn and deploy analytical methods (especially LC and MS techniques) to identify and validate binders to a different type of pharmacological targets, analyze small molecules and support weekly in vitro ADME/pharmacology assays. Lab experience of handling and characterization of large molecules (proteins, RNAs etc.), and/or liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) based small molecule analysis in biological samples are highly preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate scientific proficiency from the bench, be a fast learner of new skills, have the ability to multitask and be excited to deliver in a rapid-paced, fluid environment. He or she should work effectively under a matrix team environment. The successful candidate will be also expected to maintain up to date records as required by Pfizer policy and comply with all safety training and good laboratory practices.
