Senior Scientist, Computational Biologist – AIDD

As a Senior Scientist in Computational Biology at the China Innovation Center of Roche (CICoR) in Shanghai, you will be an integral part of the AI, Data and Digital (AIDD) team. Join us in our efforts to drive drug projects forward, from target identification to lead discovery and early development.
The Position
- Partner with AI researchers and bioinformaticians to develop novel computational methods for disease progression analysis.
- Collaborate closely with biologists in Immunology and Oncology to validate computational findings.
- Contribute to drug projects through target identification, biomarker discovery, patient stratification, and clinical trial design.
- Analyze multi-omics and phenotyping data to identify disease-driving cell types, pathways, and genes.
- Propose drug targets based on insights derived from data and recommend validation experiments.
- Engage in literature/text analysis focusing on biomedical and competitor information.
- Opportunities to collaborate with data scientists and informaticians on various projects.
- Potential to lead data science/AI initiatives and projects.
Who You Are
- Ph.D. degree in bioinformatics, biology, computational biology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of industry experience or 3+ years industry with 2+ years academic post-doc experience.
- Passionate about understanding biological questions and finding answers through data analytics.
- Strong biology knowledge in Immunology or Oncology, with excellent analytical capability.
- Proficient in bioinformatics, omics analysis, and programming skills in Python or R.
- Experience in biomarker discovery, clinical data, or text mining is a plus.
- Enjoy working in a collaborative biotech environment.
- Team player with strong communication skills in English and Mandarin.
