Description
POSITION PURPOSE: This position is a member of the R&D Microbiology team at PDI, supporting the development and improvement of disinfectants, antiseptics, and cleaning products within healthcare and professional food service industries.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties
Research & Development:
- Perform antimicrobial testing according to regulatory requirements.
- Manage Preservative challenge studies with external partners.
- Record data accurately and present findings effectively.
Laboratory Support:
- Responsible for equipment calibration and maintenance.
- Prepare media, manage documentation, and maintain cultures.
- Conduct testing with aseptic technique to avoid contamination.
Performance Measurements
- Demonstrate year-on-year increase in productivity and competencies.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to support PDI’s growth targets.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and procedures.
Qualifications
Education/Certification: University degree in a Biological Science is required.
Experience Required: Recent Graduate preferred with previous internship experience in a Microbiology Laboratory.
Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication skills, passionate scientist, self-starter, highly organized, computer literate, ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Working Conditions
About 75% lab and 25% office environment.
Salary Range
$55,000 – $65,000
