The Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) is an interdisciplinary research centre of the University of Luxembourg. Conducting fundamental and translational research in Systems Biology and Biomedicine, LCSB focuses on neurodegenerative processes, with a special interest in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.
Job Posting: Research Support Technician
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract
Duration: 12 Months
Your Role
You will be responsible for the daily lab operations at the platform, including sample collection, quality control, sample preparation for next-generation sequencing, operating sequencing instruments, and managing lab inventory.
Key Responsibilities
- Library preparation for next-generation sequencing (NGS)
- Performing sequencing runs on Illumina and Oxford Nanopore instruments
- Record keeping in an electronic lab notebook
- Optimizing and testing new protocols
- Troubleshooting technical problems
What We Expect from You
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in biology
- Minimum 2 years of wet lab experience
- Good command of MS Office and bioinformatics tools
- High reliability, precision, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently
