Are you an outstanding researcher with deep knowledge of protein biochemistry and purification? Are you interested in applying your expertise to discover disease transformative and curative biotherapeutics? We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Associate Scientist, to work in a fast-paced R&D environment applying rigorous scientific principles towards groundbreaking biological therapeutics. A successful individual will directly employ protein purification and biochemistry techniques to discover our next medicines. In this capacity, the Senior Associate Scientist will purify and characterize monoclonal antibodies, multispecifics, and other biomolecules to enable robust in vitro characterization and in vivo studies. This candidate will use AKTA systems to purify proteins via affinity and other chromatography methods, as well as use HPLCs and other biochemical analytical techniques for characterization. An outstanding researcher will be driven by a desire to collaborate expertise of scientific principles, and work adeptly within data informed timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draw upon knowledge and hands-on experience with protein purification platforms such as AKTA FPLC, HPLC platforms and other analytical methods to make the highest quality lead candidate proteins.
- Design, complete, and interpret experiments with manager’s approval.
- Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, etc. in a timely fashion.
- Remain current with relevant scientific literature.
- Collaborate and communicate with other scientists in a multifaceted and dynamic research environment.
- Provide subject matter expertise as we discover new groundbreaking therapies.
- Champion process improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
Education:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry or a related field with 7+ years of experience OR M.S. degree in Biochemistry or a related field with 5+ years of experience is required.
Experience and Skills:
- Experience with protein purification and characterization combined with an understanding of therapeutic proteins and the drug discovery process is required.
- Experience with bispecific or multi-specific antibodies, novel protein therapeutics, and antibody mechanisms of action is preferred.
- Experience with AKTA systems, Agilent HPLC, and other automation is required.
- Experience in maintaining a laboratory notebook is required.
- Familiarity with an electronic notebook (ELN) and a laboratory information management system (LIMS) is preferred.
