Role Overview:
A new opportunity has opened up at Wellcome Sanger Institute for a Bioinformatics Education Developer to lead the development of bioinformatics courses as part of the Learning and Training programme. This is a fixed-term contract until the end of September 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Leading the end-to-end process in planning, designing, and evaluating bioinformatics education and training
- Guiding the selection and implementation of diverse training delivery formats
- Ensuring high-quality training events and maintaining educational resources
- Monitoring the latest advancements in bioinformatics tools and software
- Engaging with the bioinformatics community through various platforms
- Carrying out other relevant duties as required
Essential Skills:
- Postgraduate degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field
- Proven experience in educational content development and instruction in bioinformatics
- Experience with bioinformatics databases, tools, programming languages, and data analysis techniques
- Educational and instructional design skills
- Active participation in the bioinformatics community
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills

Other Information:
- Fixed Term Contract until September 2026
- Salary: £41,000 to £49,000
