Role Summary:
As a Lead Scientist in this lab-based role, you will be focused on delivering technical solutions for next-generation purification processes to meet industry demands. Your responsibilities include designing, planning, and executing studies to drive innovative solutions that maintain Lonza’s position as a lead supplier.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of advanced primary recovery strategies
- Assess novel primary recovery technologies at Laboratory and Pilot scale
- Design, develop, and optimize scalable primary recovery processes and novel affinity purification methods
- Assess ligands and tag technologies for novel affinity capture steps
- Study ligand-protein interactions through in-silico and biophysical methods
- Develop and refine process conditions for bespoke affinity capture methods
- Independently design studies, analyze complex data sets, and achieve project targets
- Author high-quality technical reports and publications
Key Requirements:
- Minimum qualification of master’s degree in biotechnology, chemistry, or chemical engineering
- Experience in executing primary separation and protein purification for biotherapeutics
- Ability to troubleshoot downstream equipment and purification protocols
- Proficiency in using digital tools for data analysis
- Demonstrable experience in a laboratory environment
- Experience in scientific technical report and publication writing
- Fluency in English
