Job Description
Gilead Sciences currently has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated research associate to join our protein purification and QC group within the Protein Therapeutics Department. The successful candidate is expected to support recombinant protein purification and qualification under the manager’s supervision and demonstrate professionalism in daily research activities and presentations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform protein purification, QC, and protein bank registration
- Prepare technical reports and summaries for entry into Excel, PPT, ELN
- Use good oral and written communication skills to relay scientific data
- Actively participate in group meetings, present results, and interpret data
- Maintain awareness of cutting-edge technical developments and scientific knowledge
Education and Experience:
BA/BS in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or a related field with 0 – 2 years of experience. Strong skills in protein sciences and biochemistry, purification techniques, and analytical protein characterization are required.
Required Skills:
- Strong background in protein sciences and biochemistry
- Basic experience in purification techniques
- Knowledge of analytical protein characterization techniques
- Ability to perform method development and write protocols
- Detail-oriented and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
Nice to Have Skills:
Working knowledge in AKTA Unicorn program would be a strong plus.
