Position: Grade 1 Scientist position (RX1-RX7)
Working Hours: Part Time (36 hours per fortnight)
The Department
Alfred Pathology Service (APS) at Alfred Health offers comprehensive pathology testing, consultation, and collection services. The Microbiology unit focuses on diagnosing various infectious diseases and supports trauma and emergency services, organ transplants (particularly heart and lung), HIV-related diagnostics, and bone marrow transplantation services.
The Role
We are seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our Microbiology Department. This is a temporary part-time position (maternity leave replacement) where you will conduct microbiology testing following laboratory protocols. The role involves evening and weekend shifts. The ideal candidate will have experience in diagnostic Microbiology testing, attention to detail, and strong teamwork skills.
Skills/Qualifications
- BSc or BAppSc with a major in Microbiology
- Experience in diagnostic Microbiology testing
- Good attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
