Job Description

Aera Therapeutics is looking for a Research Associate II to join the Molecular Biology team. You will be responsible for cloning, mRNA production, and support for cross-functional projects. You will report to the Associate Director of Molecular Biology and will be fully on-site in our Cambridge office.

Responsibilities

  • Execute experiments using standard molecular biology techniques, including PCR, cloning, DNA purification
  • Perform mRNA production workflows, including IVT and affinity purification
  • Support workstreams where Molecular Biology expertise is required
  • Document processes, results, and entity registration in Benchling

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology Microbiology, Biochemistry (or related field) with 2+ years’ experience or Master’s degree with 1+ years’ experience (industry preferred)
  • Experience with cloning strategies, including Golden Gate and Gibson assembly
  • Experience with microbial nucleic acid transformation and growth
  • Experience with Benchling
