Position Summary
We are seeking an exceptional, self-motivated scientist to join our Discovery Screening Department at the Discovery Biology China (DBC) unit. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying and validating novel therapeutic targets for chronic metabolic diseases, contributing to our mission of preventing and curing diseases.
Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and validate in vitro cell-based assays related to metabolic diseases.
- Lead collaborative efforts to validate targets for metabolic disease treatments.
- Oversee infrastructure and workflow for target identification and validation.
- Contribute to global R&D projects and pipeline.
- Network and collaborate with external partners.
- Develop innovative technologies to address unmet medical needs.
Qualifications
- PhD in cell biology, molecular biology, or related disciplines.
- Experience in the molecular/cellular basis of obesity and T2D.
- Experience with monocellular and multicellular cell cultures.
- Proficiency in gene perturbation tools like CRISPR-Cas9 and RNAi screens.
- Experience in multi-omics data generation and AI/machine-learning analysis is a plus.
- Knowledge of preventative and therapeutic developments in metabolic diseases.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
