Job Description
As a Clinical Laboratory Technologist-Generalist, you will play a crucial role in performing routine and complex technical procedures in a fast-paced and customer-focused environment. Your responsibilities will include determining specimen acceptability, conducting testing procedures, troubleshooting instrumentation, and ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely test results to support quality patient care.
Job Responsibilities
- Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing
- Perform routine and complex technical procedures according to SOPs
- Monitor and troubleshoot instrumentation
- Report accurate and timely test results
- Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to safety protocols
- Assist with processing specimens when needed
- Ensure supply inventory is well-maintained
- Conduct preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
- Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field
- Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience or MLS degree
- ASCP or AMT certification preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Proficient in computer skills; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus
- Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
- Flexibility to work overtime or different shifts as needed
