Overview
mRNA technology has emerged as one of the most promising technologies for global vaccination and biotherapeutics development. Analytical methods like HPLC and Mass Spectrometry are crucial in analyzing mRNA quality attributes. As a Bioanalytical Scientist (KTP Associate), you will work on characterizing mRNA utilizing your expertise in HPLC and mass spectrometry. This role offers the chance to accelerate your career growth through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with the University of Sheffield, based at RSSL in Reading.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Delivering the project objectives outlined in the KTP project work plan
- Identifying and addressing project risks and challenges
- Collaborating with supervisory teams to publish technical papers
- Maintaining project plans and providing progress reports
- Organizing technical and progress meetings
- Contributing to the University research profile through publications and collaborations
- Implementing new services within RSSL in line with the project plan
- Self-directing your professional development with dedicated support
- Completing all KTP Training and KTP Associate Final Report
Essential Criteria
- PhD in bioscience, chemical engineering, or related field
- Strong analytical chemistry knowledge, including mass spectrometry
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to think critically, solve problems, and work in a team
- Interest in presenting results and engaging with stakeholders
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in molecular biology and RNA biochemistry
- Hands-on experience in HPLC and Mass Spectrometry
- Awareness of manufacturing scale-up challenges and GMP
- Knowledge of statistical design of experiments and data analysis

Grade: OFFSCALE
Salary: £32,000 – £40,000 depending on experience
Work Arrangement: Full-time / Fixed Term for 24 months
Duration: 24 months
