Job Description Summary:
The Department of Cancer Biology at KUMC is seeking a highly motivated Research Technician to join the laboratories of Dr. Kalyani Pyaram and Dr. Danny Welch. This role involves responsibilities split evenly between both labs, focusing on understanding cancers and immune cells using animal models.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine research tasks under the direction of the principal investigator.
- Maintain a current Laboratory Notebook to document research information.
- Participate in laboratory operations, animal maintenance, and equipment upkeep.
- Collaborate with a diverse research team including trainees.
- Ensure compliance with quality control and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Research experience with animals, cell culture, and molecular biology techniques.
- Prior experience as a research technician or lab manager.
