Job Description

Position Summary:

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is hiring a skilled, driven, and ambitious Scientist III, Field Applications working at Bioprocess Design Center in Songdo-do. As a Field Application Scientist, you will have the chance to work with powerful technology and play a key role in advancing Thermo Fisher Scientific’s mission to deliver scientific innovation. This opportunity enables you to collaborate with a team of exceptional professionals on a global scale.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with customers on research projects to successfully implement innovative solutions.
  • Write comprehensive study plans and detailed reports.
  • Generate application data to support research initiatives.
  • Perform batch, fed-batch, and perfusion culture for media/feed evaluation, process development, and scale-up studies using mammalian cells.
  • Conduct flask, Ambr15, and benchtop bioreactor runs.
  • Prepare and maintain Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents.
  • Perform regular equipment maintenance to ensure flawless operation.

Requirements:

  • A master’s degree or Ph.D. in a life science-related field such as Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Engineering. Equivalent experience in these fields will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and proprietary information with sensitivity.
  • Ability to interface effectively at all interpersonal levels.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Korean.
  • Strong drive to learn and expand skills.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft programs.

Experience:

  • At least 12 years of experience in a biopharma company, specifically in roles related to cell line development and cell culture process development.
