Job Title: Quality Control Scientist

Job Location: Livingston, West Lothian, United Kingdom

Your Role:

We have an exciting Quality Control Scientist position available at our Livingston site. In this role, you will conduct Serology and Biochemical tests to support the production of blood typing reagents and related products, adhering to established protocols and regulations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing quality control tests on incoming raw materials.
  • Participating in stability programs and maintaining laboratory equipment.
  • Accurately documenting results and analyzing trends.
  • Investigating technical issues and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Updating testing procedures and identifying opportunities for process improvement and cost-saving measures.
  • Fulfilling other duties within the quality management system.

Who You Are:

Qualifications and attributes we’re looking for:

  • Degree in a scientific discipline such as Biochemistry, Immunology, or a relevant Life Science.
  • Previous experience in a GMP/GLP environment is preferred.
  • Collaborative and respectful, promoting an inclusive and transparent working environment.
  • Proven track record in participating in projects and change management.
  • Experience with blood typing processes and serology, particularly within Blood Transfusion services, is a distinct advantage.
  • Essential experience working with SOPs in a GMP/GLP environment.
  • Strong ability to work to deadlines with a keen focus on detail.
  • Competent in using IT technology, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and principles of Data Integrity.
