Job Summary Charles River Laboratories (CRL) is seeking an Operations Specialist with a focus on Clinical Pathology to join the Integrated Toxicology (ITox) team at the Kansas (CR-KAN) site.
Job Description The Operations Specialist will perform and train basic and advanced skills required to conduct a study, including collecting data, sample preparation and processing, training junior staff, and supporting specimen/material shipment for the site. Key responsibilities include:
- On-boarding and training junior staff
- Operating and maintaining general laboratory equipment
- Shipping samples and receiving samples into the site
- Performing biological sample management duties
- Assisting in technical/study related duties
Job Qualifications Education: High school diploma, General Education Degree (G.E.D.) required. Bachelorโs degree (BA/BS) or equivalent in biological science preferred.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of applicable CRO experience in in-vivo operations and/or clinical pathology; prior shipping experience preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment The position may require overtime, weekend, holiday, and/or after-hours shift coverage. Physical demands include the ability to lift heavy objects, perform laboratory procedures, and meet specific vision requirements. The work environment includes exposure to various hazards such as toxic chemicals, biological hazards, and noise levels ranging from low to high.
Salary Range The pay range for this position is $29-31/hour, with variations based on factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
