Description:
MPL Laboratories/EMSL Analytical, Inc., one of the largest environmental testing firms in the United States is currently seeking a Part Time Laboratory Intern for its location in Sparta, NJ. The basic function of the Laboratory Intern position is to assist the Laboratory Technicians perform laboratory testing.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work within a very successful cGMP microbiology laboratory specializing in pharm, personal care, and cosmetics analysis.
- Learn from microbiologists from various backgrounds with decades of experience.
- State of the art facility expansion nearly complete.
- Perform all phases of glassware washing to include loading and operating laboratory dishwashers and hand-washing items.
- Assist with scheduled monthly laboratory services / facility preventive maintenance (PM).
- Experience using MaxPanda CMMS – preventive maintenance management software.
- Autoclave laboratory samples, suspensions and plates prior to disposal to laboratory waste steam.
- Perform all phases of waste disposal to include removing garbage, samples, broth and plate disposal.
- Assist with cleaning and restocking scientific glassware for analysts.
- Assist with laboratory prep and clean up.
- Flexible hours aligned with common college course schedules.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- College courses in Microbiology geared towards Biological studies is a plus.
- Must be willing and able to work in a fast paced environment
- Must be detail oriented and able to prioritize assignments.
- Must be able to lift and carry items from storage room to laboratory.
Available Shifts:
- Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. xtra hours and/or weekend work may be required to meet business demands.
- This position is seasonal, we are looking for interns to start end of June through August.
