Quality Control Intern
In Clayton, NC, we now operate two adjacent pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains.
Our Clayton, NC Diabetes Finished Products (DFP) facility is a 457,000 square foot aseptic “fill and finish” site that is responsible for producing innovative, injectable diabetes and obesity treatments. When you work at DFP, you’ll join a global network of manufacturing professionals focused on several key, final production processes, including sterile formulation, filling, inspection, device assembly and packaging.

Quality Control Intern
This is a paid, ten-week internship during the summer of 2022.
Job Summary – As a Quality Control Intern at Novo Nordisk your duties may include:
- managing at least 1 Quality Control area improvement project
- supporting the finalizing of SOP’s, test plans and protocols in the QC areas (Chemistry, Microbiology, Raw Materials, and IT/ equipment support teams)
- performing solution preparation and maintenance
- maintaining chemistry lab testing stations and supplies
- simplification or innovation of QC processes
- preparing and delivering a presentation to management on the details of your project at the conclusion of the internship
- other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Must be a rising junior, rising senior or graduate student
- Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale at the time of application
- 0-6 months of work-related engineering experience
- Equipment, chemical and engineering knowledge to support a laboratory
- Maintenance/troubleshooting of laboratory equipment
- Problem solving skills
- Innovation abilities
- Ability to execute activities according to a structured plan
Physical & Other Requirements may include
- Able to work with hazardous materials & chemicals
- Corrected vision to 20/30
- Able to lift 25 lbs. with assistance
- Able to work extended hours to support manufacturing operations
