Department Overview:

The Microchemistry, Proteomics & Lipidomics (MPL) department employs cutting-edge biochemistry, advanced receptor discovery platforms, mass spectrometry and Next-Generation Sequencing to facilitate characterization of purified proteins, protein complexes, ligand receptor interactomes, post-translational modifications and lipids. Utilizing both qualitative and quantitative mass spectrometry we can help decipher intracellular & extracellular signaling events and the underlying biochemical mechanisms in support of early-stage drug discovery & development. Integrating advanced bioinformatics tools, we transform raw data into meaningful information that assists in the drug discovery pipeline and accelerates basic research.

Project:

The intern will develop interactive graphics reports on Next-Generation Sequencing Laboratory Information Management System for lab managers and lab staff to help them make informed decisions in their lab workflows.

Responsibilities:

• Implement software to produce interactive graphics report on various project metrics
• Implement graphics reports on project samples and libraries
• Implement graphics reports on pooled library read counts

Qualifications:

• Fluent in Python programming language
• Experience in developing graphics reports using Plotly
• Familiar with relational database queries
• Good communication skills
