Job Title: R&D Specialist II (Cell Biologist) (2000870) – West Sacramento, CA
Job Description for BASF R&D Specialist job:
They are looking for an R&D Specialist to work in our West Sacramento location. You will be responsible for executing Cell Biology technologies, procedures and protocols and ensure effective delivery of Cell Biology products. Will assist the Cell Biology Services team leader by monitoring all aspect of the day to day laboratory environment to ensure high quality, cost-effective and fast delivery of services to other divisions and departments within BASF Vegetable Seeds. BASF R&D Will contribute to optimizing and implementing new technologies, techniques and protocols.
Eligibility Criteria for BASF R&D Specialist :
- BSc in plant biology, biotechnology or a related field
- 3 years of plant tissue culture experience in an academic or industry lab
- Demonstrated ability to set up & perform various Cell Biology projects
- Hands-on experience in areas such as DH (doubled haploid) production, micropropagation, cryopreservation and somatic embryogenesis.
- R&D Specialist should have an Experience working with vegetable crops such as watermelon, melon, onion and tomato in the laboratory, GH (greenhouse) and field settings.
- Good communication skills; comfortable working in multi-disciplinary teams
- Precise, detailed analytic approach
- Excellent planning, organization and execution skills
- Functional competencies: analytical thinking, interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills
