Job Summary
The candidate will work on developing DNA sequencing technologies, including the aspects of biochemistry, surface chemistry, microfabrication, prototyping, microscopy, and image analysis.
Essential Functions – Post Doctoral Fellow at Philadelphia
- Design and run molecular biology experiments related to DNA sequencing – encompasses DNA purification, enzymatic modifications, and biomolecular conjugations.
- Study and implement various surface functionalization methods and schemes to impart functionalities to solid supports for DNA attachment.
- Engineer and fabricate lithographic structures to produce variations of solid supports. This includes a wide range of micromachining tools and techniques.
- Engineer and fabricate microfluidic implements including 3D printing and other plastic manufacturing techniques.Design and build modifications to new and existing microscopic equipment. Analyze microscopy images using new and existing tools.
Required Qualification
- Minimum of PhD or Doctorate – Biomedical Engineering, Biosciences, or a related field
- Minimum of 1 year experience

- Experience in DNA sequencing technologies

This position is classified as exempt with a grade of I, $41,120 – $61,680. The offered salary is dependent upon internal equity and the successful candidate’s competencies, education, and experience.
