About the Company:
The Mt. Vernon site was established in 1972 and is the flagship site delivering innovative, life-changing oral solid medicines. At the site, we formulate and pack OSD tablets and capsules for over 60+ markets. The Mt. Vernon site is the largest AZ production site in the US and is located in the southwest corner of the state of Indiana, approximately 15 miles from Evansville, Indiana – the third-largest city in the state of Indiana. Job Posting: Microbiologist I
Responsibilities:
- Performs routine microbial testing on product, utilities, and environmental monitoring of GMP areas
- Participates in and may lead some QC Team Discussions
- Maintains adequate inventories of reagents, glassware, and other supplies
- Writes and executes laboratory investigations for known lab errors and Out of Specification (OOS) results
- Executes laboratory processes in compliance with GMPs, site and corporate policies, SOPs, and test methods
- May perform sampling activities of various types in the facility
- Maintains and troubleshoots testing equipment and provides continuous improvement ideas for laboratory processes
- Trains QC employees in good analytical techniques, methods, and processes
- Performs project work and troubleshoots methods and processes
Minimum Requirements: BS Microbiology Openings
- Bachelor degree or a minimum of 3 years of demonstrated relevant experience in Quality Control lab setting
Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in Microbiology or a related discipline
- 2 years of laboratory experience
- High level of knowledge and competence with a specific piece of laboratory equipment
