Job Posting: Medical Lead / Medical Science Liaison
Location – Belgrade, Serbia
Job Purpose and Main Responsibilities:
- Optimize patient access and outcomes: Providing up-to-date compound and disease area medical expertise.
- Act as a key expert: Leading across functions to address external and internal stakeholder needs in the relevant therapeutic area assigned.
- Shape and implement Local and Global Therapeutic Area strategy: Through innovative integrated evidence generation, engagement with internal and external stakeholders, and co-creation with healthcare systems and the scientific community.
- Co-design clinical development launch and life cycle management: Close collaboration with Country, Regional, and Global team members, ensuring the best interest of patients and healthcare providers.

- Preparation and execution of local Medical Affairs strategic plans: Aligning and collaborating with other functions.
- Early identification of strategic drivers: Elaboration of patient journey, positioning, target population, stakeholder mapping, and segmentation.
- Opportunities for joint value creation: Engaging with key scientific leaders and healthcare system partners, including Patients and Patient Associations.
- Leading Post Trial Access (PTA) and Managed Access Programs (MAP): Evaluating research studies and collaborations for scientific rigor and alignment.
- Raising awareness of Novartis: Through publication of manuscripts, scientific presentations, projects, and educational trainings.
- Ensuring compliance: Aligning local Medical Affairs initiatives, interpreting policies, mitigating risks, and ensuring adherence to regulations.
- Strategic partnership: Collaborating with various teams to ensure effective patient outcomes and access.
Role Requirements:
- University degree: Medicine, Pharmacy, Biology, Chemistry, or other relevant university education.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience: Within Medical Affairs. Experience from an innovative pharma company is an advantage.
- Strong medical and scientific knowledge: Ability to interact with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and navigate the diseases’ arena.
- Knowledge of drug development, local regulations, and global pharmacovigilance regulations: Including regulations for promotional materials.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills: Ability to effectively communicate with external customers and partners.
- Ability to adapt and work in a dynamic environment: Prioritizing tasks and adapting to changes effectively.
- Customer-centric mindset: Identifying business opportunities and matching customer needs with available resources.
- Active membership in professional society: A plus.
- Strong team player: Ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
