In the Global Bioinformatics team at Evotec more than 100 scientists with diverse backgrounds in biology, computer science, mathematics, and biomedicine work on the analysis and interpretation of omics data. Together with our colleagues in the wetlabs we develop and continuously improve our high throughput and high precision omics platforms. In drug discovery projects we work together with scientist from multiple other disciplines in a global organization of more than 5.000 employees across 15 sites. Our tasks include omics data handling and qc, method and software development, and the biological interpretation of analysis results. Our goal is to enable better decisions for medicines that matter.

About our team
Our team is fully integrated in the drug discovery process, and we are mainly working with large-scale OMICs data (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics) with biological focus on metabolic diseases and inflammation.
Your key responsibilities:
- Perform analysis of high-throughput OMICs data with focus on transcriptomics & proteomics to support hit validation and other drug discovery processes
- Work at the interface of dry and wet lab to support high-throughput and OMICs technology development
- Extract mechanistic insights from compound treatments, gene perturbations and disease models using your experience in the analysis of pathways & molecular signatures
- Develop solutions for data interpretation, visualization, and standardized reporting for our project teams & external clients
- Advance the automation of data interpretation in an interdisciplinary team of computational scientists, bioinformaticians and biologists
- Communicate and present results within Evotec project teams and to external clients
Your ideal qualifications:
- You hold a master with 4 years of relevant experience or PhD degree in life sciences or a related field
- You are experienced in R-based analysis of multidimensional datasets (transcriptomics, proteomics, high-throughput screening)
- Your solid knowledge in cell signalling and cell biology allows you to interpret molecular observations in a cellular context
- Experience with R markdown, GitLab and causal inference is a plus
- You are experienced in working on and with interdisciplinary teams
- You have excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff, collaborators and clients
- Fluency in English is required
