Job Summary
Battelle’s Biomedical Research Center team includes 200 scientific staff with varied expertise, working together to develop and test novel drugs and medical countermeasures. This position involves toxicology/chemistry laboratory activities focused on evaluating medical countermeasures for highly toxic materials and infectious organisms using animal research models.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine lab procedures accurately
- Analyze and report results with precision
- Work with hazardous materials while adhering to safety standards
- Maintain communication with supervisors and coworkers
- Follow SOPs, guidelines, and facility protocols
- Keep lab facilities and equipment clean and maintained
- Assist with equipment maintenance and waste disposal
- Learn and refine laboratory skills
Key Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or higher in biology or related life science OR equivalent experience
- Must be a US Citizen
- High manual dexterity and ability to work with a respirator
- Physical ability to handle lab work and hazardous materials
- Willingness to work in a biocontainment environment and follow safety protocols
