Job Role – Senior Research Scientist
Location – The State University of New York · Stony Brook, NY
Required Qualification: (as evidenced by an attached resume)
- Doctoral degree or foreign equivalent degree.
- Five years of full-time research experience in metal carcinogenesis research using cellular and animal tumor models, including at least three years of research experience following the attainment of a doctoral degree.
- NIH grant writing experience.
Preferred Qualification:
- PhD in Biomedical Sciences.
- Experience in molecular and cellular research.
- Research experience in environmental carcinogenesis using mass spectrometry and omics approaches.
- Demonstrated research productivity with first-author publications in high-quality journals.
- Evidence of ability to independently plan, design, and conduct research and present findings.
Brief Description Of Duties: Biomedical Science Research Jobs
- The Senior Research Scientist will conduct research with Sr. Faculty members of the Stony Brook Cancer Center and Department of Pathology.
- The incumbent will independently design research and ensure that all research protocols follow the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University.
- The incumbent will serve as the lead scientist in the Lab.
Duties: Biomedical Science Research Jobs
- Plan, design and implement research experiments in the field of environmental cancer to achieve research objective(s).
- Preparation of papers for publications, and presentation of results in scientific conferences, workshops and seminars.
- Preparation of grant proposals and application of grants.
- Supervise, plan, organize and evaluate the activities of others including postdoctoral associates, research support positions and graduate assistants.
- Maintain all laboratory records consistent with University policy.
- Other duties as assigned.

- FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
