Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking a highly motivated Scientist I/II to join the Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) department at our US headquarters in Ridgefield, CT.
As a Scientist I/II, you will be responsible for conducting in vitro studies to evaluate the interaction of drugs and experimental compounds with drug-metabolizing enzymes. You will be expected to evaluate and interpret the data generated and contribute toward the advancement of the field of drug metabolism. Active and productive collaboration with other scientists in the field of transporters, metabolism, and pharmacokinetics will also be expected.

Scientist I Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or other relevant fields from an accredited institution with 0-3 years of relevant experience
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Familiarity with bioanalytical techniques such as high-performance liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry would be advantageous
- Familiarity with in vitro cell-based assays using subcellular fractions or cells would be advantageous
- Experience with common molecular biology tools, such as cell culture techniques and quantification of RNA and protein, would be advantageous
- Experience with the safe and appropriate use of radioactivity would be advantageous
Scientist II Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or other relevant fields from an accredited institution with 3 – 7 years of relevant experience
- Master of Science degree in chemistry, pharmacy, biology, or other relevant fields with 0-3 years of relevant experience
- Laboratory experience, including familiarity with in vitro cell-based assays
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Experience with common molecular biology tools, such as cell culture techniques and quantification of RNA and protein, would be advantageous
- Familiarity with routine LC-MS/MS instrumentation and method development would be advantageous, including the ability to solve assay development challenges
- Familiarity with enzyme kinetics and/or pharmacokinetics would be advantageous
- Experience with the safe and appropriate use of radioactivity for in vitro studies would be advantageous
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including verification of your past employment, criminal history, and educational background

- Must be 18 years of age or older
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine in vitro experiments using a variety of cellular and subcellular systems such as microsomes and hepatocytes; report data generated from these studies.
- Participate in the development and implementation of new technologies in the field of Drug Metabolism and apply these technologies to daily work.
- Comply with applicable regulations, perform all work in a safe and responsible manner, and maintain proper records in accordance with standard operating procedures and corporate policies.
