The Hwang laboratory at the Broad Institute of MIT & Harvard’s Center for Integrated Solutions for Infectious Diseases (CISID) is seeking a Research Scientist I to investigate the host genetic landscape of human papillomavirus (HPV)-driven cellular immortalization and transformation.
Description & Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding and genuine interest in infectious disease studies, expertise in virology and functional genomics, and a passion for researching host-pathogen interactions, particularly virus-induced cancers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and carry out experiments essential to the project
- Consult scientific literature and colleagues for troubleshooting
- Develop new methods and technologies
- Maintain detailed experimental records and contribute to publications
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and wet lab skills
- High level of initiative and motivation
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Experience with microscopy, data analysis, and bioinformatics preferred
Required Qualifications
- PhD in virology, microbiology, genetics, or related field
- 1+ years of post-graduate experience
