About the Team:

The Safety Assessment/Toxicology Cell and Gene Therapy group within Early Development consists of highly collaborative laboratory and scientific staff with training and experience to support the unique demands of cell and/or gene therapeutic development. Research at this level of precision requires the latest technology, state-of-the-art facilities, and expert staff to produce optimal outcomes. The collaboration we do at every phase of development allows for therapies to come on the market to treat debilitating diseases., and improve the quality of the life of deserving patients.

Post-Doc Project Summary:

  • Study the effects of chemical influence on AAV integration through the use of various pre-administered common immunosuppressives using in vivo models.
  • Assess the tolerability and effectiveness of immunosuppression regimens within in vivo models in support of future cell transplantation studies.
  • As part of a team, aid in the development of inhaled gene therapies.
  • Work with various internal groups to research and develop various analytical assays for viral/non-viral gene therapy and cell transplantation studies.
  • Assist with or lead generation of scientific posters, publications, presentations, and/or other client facing resources related to the project or related projects.
  • Attend relevant professional international conferences and seminars.

Education/Qualifications/Skills:

  • Have a minimum of 4 years experience within the relevant discipline (cell and gene therapy or transplantation, toxicology/pharmacology)
  • Computing skills, including word processing and use of spreadsheets (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • The post holder should be able to communicate effectively at all levels with other Labcorp employees, as well as external clients, suppliers, etc.
  • Ph.D. in Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology/Bacteriology, Toxicology, Pharmacokinetics or related scientific area with publication record
  • Experience in the following scientific areas is required
  • Toxicology/Pharmacology
  • Cell or Gene therapy
  • Experience in one or more of the following scientific areas is desired
  • GLP standards
  • Bacteriology/Immunology
  • Transplantation
