Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking a Computational Protein Design Scientist with expertise in leveraging computational tools in protein design for synthetic biology applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science, collaborative research experience, and a passion for making a meaningful global impact.
Responsibilities
- Utilize generative AI models for designing proteins
- Analyze protein design challenges based on functional requirements and biochemistry
- Collaborate with lab-based engineers for experimental validation
- Contribute to improving data management systems and workflows
- Maintain scientific excellence and stay updated on relevant advancements
Qualifications and Requirements
- You have a PhD (or equivalent industry experience) in computational biology, bioinformatics, computer science, biochemistry, structural biology, physics, biophysics, bio/chem engineering, or a related field.
- Proven track record in computational biology and protein biochemistry
- Experience with experimental collaborations and data-driven projects
- Your research experience was in protein biochemistry using computational expertise.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Skills
Experience with generative AI, gene editing tools, and bioinformatics is a plus. Previous work in scaling biotech startups is desirable but not mandatory.
What sets you apart
- You have experience with generative AI. You have experience leveraging generative AI (or other machine learning models) in synthetic biology applications.
- You have experience engineering gene editing tools, such as nucleases and integrases.
- You have experience with homology-based and structural bioinformatics, and are able to answer scientific questions using very large databases.
- You have helped scale a young biotech before. You have worked in startups and helped the company grow.
