CytomX’s Internship Program is a paid 12-week summer internship for undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students looking for exposure and meaningful work experience in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry. We’ve designed our program to give interns an opportunity to learn hands-on project experience, develop new skills outside of the classroom and establish career networks and lifelong mentors.

Scope of Timeline

Program Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age prior to scheduled start date
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must be able to commit to the full 12 weeks’ time frame between June and August.
- Interns will be expected to work 40 hours a week.
- We accept applications from students at all degree levels: BS, MS, and PhD.
- Candidates are eligible to apply to the internship within one year of their last degree attained.
- We do not have a GPA requirement.
- Applicants must have completed at least one year of accredited university or community college course work to be considered for an internship.
- We currently do not offer visa sponsorship to interns.
The Opportunity:
The goal of the Platform Biology internship is to provide the opportunity for the intern to gain skills in basic Protease Biology (i.e. protease activity measurements), Capillary Electrophoresis based assays, cell culture, IHC/IF and ELISA. The intern will perform a number of experiments that will help in research of the Probody Therapeutic platform. The assignment is 12-weeks long.
The research plan and projects consist of the following:
- Zymography assays
- Biomarker discovery
- Tissue sectioning and IHC/IF
- WES/CE
Professional Responsibilities:
- The individual will participate in hands-on laboratory experiments and analysis of the data.
Education/Experience:
- Individual either possessing or in the process of obtaining BA/BS, MS, or PhD programs
Professional Requirements:
- Previous biochemistry/molecular/biology lab experience required
- Solid basic lab skills (e.g. pipetting)
- Very organized and capable of keeping clear and concise records
- Strong interest in gaining wet-lab skills
