Position: Production Scientist 2 – Genetic Analysis
Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Job Description:
YOUR ROLE: As a Production Scientist in the Post-Amplification group, your primary responsibility will be the manufacturing and QC testing of DNA standards to support multiple product lines. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams for product development and process improvements.
Core Duties:
- Manufacturing products to meet specifications and delivery schedules.
- Performing assays to ensure quality control.
- Documenting processes and improving protocols.
- Designing experiments for process enhancements.
- Providing technical support for product improvement teams.
Key Qualifications:
1. A.D., B.S., or M.S. degree in a scientific discipline (e.g. Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology). Degree and 3+ years of postgraduate lab experience in industrial manufacturing operations as reflected in a proven record of accomplishment in the Core Duties of this position are used to determine qualification.
2. Documented record of accomplishment in experimental design and problem solving relevant to this position.
3. Documented record of organizational and multi-tasking skills; ability to effectively work on several projects and/or products.
4. Ability to interpret and communicate scientific results and interact productively with others on the team.
5. Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
6. Ability to use a computer/Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior industry experience.
- Knowledge of quality system requirements.
- Proficiency in computer applications for data analysis.
- Self-starter with creative problem-solving skills.
Physical Demands:
- Work at a laboratory bench for extended periods.
- Handle hazardous materials safely.
- Use standard laboratory protective equipment.
