Genomic Data Scientist (all genders)
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Position responsibilities:
- Conduct data quality control (QC) for WGS data, including variant and sample-level QC checks
- Develop a robust, automated, and scalable WGS QC pipeline for cloud-based platforms
- Harmonize and implement data analysis strategies across internal data assets
- Present results and literature reviews at group meetings as needed
- Collaborate closely with other group members and subject matter experts
Specific tasks:
- Annotating genetic variants using tools such as VEP, LOFTEE, and AlphaMissense
- Develop a pipeline to extract WES content from WGS data
- Perform structural variant analysis
- Build analysis pipelines for single variant and gene burden analysis
WHO YOU ARE
We are looking for individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Hold a Ph.D. in bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field
- Have extensive experience with WGS data analysis and bioinformatics tools
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of genetic variant annotation and interpretation
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, or similar
- Familiar with Linux environments, high-performance computing, and cloud computing
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
