What You Will Do

The Biochemistry and Biotechnology Group (B-TEK) at LANL is seeking a post-bachelor candidate interested in mass spectrometry, specifically proteomics, metabolomics, and lipidomics research. The successful candidate will work on various projects related to characterizing chemical exposure, understanding biological effects, and developing bio-sample analysis. This is a great opportunity to collaborate with a team of scientists, technicians, and students.

What You Need

  • General background in biology, chemistry, or analytical sciences
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and execute new laboratory skills
  • Proficiency with computers, word processing, data processing, and data visualization
  • Strong communication skills for presenting research results
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Minimum of 40 hours per week availability
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field obtained within the past 3 years

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography
  • Knowledge of coding languages (e.g., R or Python), statistical data processing, or mass spectrometry data packages
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for publications and grant proposals
