Johnson & Johnson are seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist to join their Neuroscience Drug Discovery Biology team dedicated to the discovery and development of breakthrough therapeutics for neuro-immunological and neuropsychiatric disorders. The individual will be an active participant in a vibrant, multidisciplinary drug discovery team. The successful candidate will contribute to the understanding of neuro-immunology, neuropharmacology, and neurophysiology. Experimental work is a very important part of the role and the
new hire will spend a significant part of his/her time at the bench.

Job Description:
Janssen Research & Development, L.L.C., a division of Johnson & Johnson’s Family of Companies, is recruiting for an Associate Scientist, Neuroscience Drug Discovery Biology located in La Jolla, CA (San Diego area).
Qualifications Required
A Masters Degree in biomedical sciences, such as biology, neuroscience, or pharmacology, or other relevant areas of study with 1-3 years of experience is required OR
For Johnson & Johnson Jobs candidates must have A Bachelors Degree in biomedical sciences, such as biology, neuroscience, or
pharmacology or other relevant areas of study with 2-4 years of experience is
required Pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred.
- Experience culturing primary tissue and cell lines is required.
- Experience in electrophysiology is strongly preferred.
- For Johnson & Johnson Jobs candidates should have Experience with heterologous expression (transfections) of receptors in recombinant systems is preferred
- Johnson & Johnson Jobs Basic understanding of molecular, cellular, and pharmacological studies is required.
Experience in studying synaptic physiology is preferred. - Strong interpersonal
- skills, the ability to interact well with peers and collaborators is required
- This role is based in La Jolla, CA and may require approximately 5% of domestic and international travel.
