Job Description
Overview Of The Role
The Laboratory Technician will be crucial in handling, processing, storing, and shipping UK Biobank samples. This position is integral to supporting the laboratory’s operations and ensuring the smooth functioning of sample management processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Handling samples throughout the sample lifecycle
- Undertaking tasks relating to sample management
- Supporting a safe, efficient working environment, adhering to quality standards
- Supporting training and process improvements
- Undertake additional duties in line with business needs
Requirements
Essential
- BSc in a relevant life sciences discipline or equivalent laboratory experience
- Experience working in a laboratory setting
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with team members
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
Desirable
- Experience working with relevant ISO standards or equivalent
- Experience using a LIMS product or equivalent information system
- Experience in training or mentoring others
