Lab Technician
Location: Collegeville, Pennsylvania
Responsibilities
- Perform routine calibration/verification checks on a range of laboratory equipment.
- Upkeep and cleaning of lab equipment to ensure the scientific quality of customer projects.
- General laboratory tasks, including maintenance of equipment, stocking of consumables/ chemicals/ reagents, and overall lab upkeep.
- Specific tasks tailored to the customers’ requirements.
- Follow SOPs, protocols, and other guidelines as it relates to the required tasks.
- Interact with colleagues in other functions to solve technical problems.
- Maintain training and compliance in areas of health and safety, security, environmental, and operational aspects of daily activities.
- Provide and escalate continuous improvement initiatives to benefit ways of working.
Critical Skills
- Attention to detail and understanding of the basic laboratory environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions.
- Basic experience with MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent customer service and relations skills.
- Ability to critically review ways of working effectively.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a chemistry, biology, or other relevant discipline OR
- Associate degree in a chemistry, biology, or relevant discipline with 2+ years’ experience in a laboratory environment OR
- High School Qualifications with 5 years’ experience in a laboratory or customer service environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within a laboratory environment.
Working Environment
- Must be able to work in a laboratory with controlled environments requiring personal protective equipment.
- Job pace may be fast with high demands.
- Physical requirements include moving between labs and buildings, occasional lifting, and operating instruments.
- Specific vision abilities required for this position.
- Employee may be required to handle hazardous waste and wear a respirator for protection.
Compensation
The annual compensation range for this full-time position is $47,320.00 to $71,240.00.
