About the Company:
The Krantz Family Center for Cancer Research Cartography Core, part of the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center, is a cutting-edge translational research facility specializing in the utilization of protein and RNA biomarker staining combined with quantitative digital microscopy analytics to advance cancer biology understanding. Our goal is to enhance cancer research through high-plex imaging and spatial transcriptomic techniques, working closely with researchers from diverse backgrounds.
Bioinformatics Analyst, Cancer Center – (3291947)
Responsibilities:
- Apply existing and novel algorithms to project data sets, analyze results
- Design analysis approaches, workflows, and software tools for large data sets
- Present results effectively to clinicians and scientists
- Contribute to quantitative digital image analysis and computational pipelines
- Quantify and interpret spatial transcriptomics data
- Assist in the maintenance and operation of imaging platforms
Qualifications:
- B.A./B.S. in Biostatistics, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biology, Biochemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
- 3-5 years post graduate experience in computational biology, bioinformatics, or related fields
- Strong interest in cancer research; prior activity in this area an advantage
- Independence, ability to self-motivate, prioritize and organize
- Excellent programming skills in Python or R
- Familiarity with software engineering and algorithms
- Comfort using Word, Excel, Powerpoint or Google Docs to communicate results between team members
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and fluency in English
- Ability to work together with multi-disciplinary teams consisting of physicians, experimental scientists, statisticians and software engineers
