Job Posting: Medical Affairs Lead – Respiratory & Immunology (R&I)
The Respiratory and Immunology MAL will lead the development, implementation, and performance of medical strategy for inline and pipeline products working closely with the Medical Affairs Manager (MAM) and Head of Medical Affairs. The MAL will prepare the UK Marketing Company for the launches of assets in the respiratory and immunology therapy area and develop and deliver healthcare interventions to accelerate clinical pathways.
Key Accountabilities:

Own the R&I medical strategy and ensure effective execution.

Lead development and performance oversight of clinical service strategies.

Coach and mentor MAMs in the Respiratory and Immunology area.

Contribute medical insight to strategic and operational planning across the UK Business Unit.

Map UK clinical practice and expert networks for R&I.

Develop and execute launch strategies for AstraZeneca’s portfolio.

Build robust relationships with external partners including KEEs, payers, and patient groups.

Represent the UK Medical Affairs team in regional and global forums.

Deliver comprehensive pre-launch and peri-launch medical plans.

Guide the Field Medical Affairs (MSLs) team to achieve medical KPIs.

Ensure full alignment with AstraZeneca’s QMS SOPs and internal policies.
Essential Skills & Experience:
-
Degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, or Life Sciences.

In-depth experience working with Respiratory and Immunology products.

Proven leadership experience in either pharma or clinical medicine.

Strong track record in strategy development and execution.

Effective cross-functional collaboration and accountability.

Deep knowledge of the UK healthcare environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable Skills & Experience:

Registered Physician (GMC) or Pharmacist (GPhC).

Member/Fellow of a Royal College or Royal Pharmaceutical Society.

Clinical experience in the UK health system.

Significant experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Expertise in the ABPI Code of Practice.

Familiarity with the NHS and patient insights.

ABPI Code Nominated Signatory status is a plus.
