About the Position
This is an onsite, full-time position at the Oakdale, MN, location, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Summary
The Microbiology Associate Scientist I is responsible for providing analysis, administration, and oversight of microbiology/biology policies and practices. The role involves analyzing samples using professional knowledge and technical expertise in microbiology/biology.
Essential Functions
- Provide fundamental analysis in support of testing materials, products, and devices.
- Review, interpret, and document testing results.
- Oversee or review various standard microbiology/biology forms, documents, and databases.
- Offer analysis and interpretation to staff and management.
- Review microbiology/biology information to draw conclusions and present recommendations.
- Ensure accuracy in testing processes and results.
- Participate in microbiology/biology projects under management direction.
- Maintain equipment, samples, and related areas.
Qualifications
To perform successfully, candidates need a Bachelor’s degree in microbiology/biology or a related field. Required knowledge includes understanding of microbiology/biology principles, practices, techniques, and laws. Skills needed include performing microbiology/biology duties, training others, and preparing reports.
Physical/Mental Requirements
The role requires mobility, vision, hearing, and speech to work in a lab and office setting. Employees must be able to lift objects and communicate effectively.
Working Environment
Work is performed in a lab and office environment with exposure to chemicals and related items in the lab setting.
