Job Purpose:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated bench scientist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in advancing our understanding of muscle growth or loss and developing therapies for muscle mass preservation, particularly in the context of weight loss or sarcopenia. This position involves applying scientific knowledge and expertise to develop muscle functional assays to support the progression of drug discovery projects.
This Opportunity:
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Perform in vivo experiments for target ID, validation and MoA in the area of obesity and diabetes.
- Perform acute and chronic in vivo studies, glucose/insulin tolerance tests, including animal handling and data collection.
- Analyze data from experiments and present findings in spreadsheet and graphical form.
Who You Are
Minimum Requirements:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in biology/animal science/veterinary technology or related field
- Minimum 1 year of work experience handling animals
Additional Skills/Preferences:
- Experience with rodent metabolic disease models and small animal surgery techniques
- Additional experience in cell culture and molecular/biochemical techniques
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Flexible scheduling for occasional after-hours or weekend work
