Position: Next Generation Sequencing Junior Lab Technician
Location: Amsterdam Area
Responsibilities:
- Perform experimental processes to obtain sequencing results within specified timelines
- Handle sample receiving and registration in the LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)
- Conduct quality and quantity checks for DNA and RNA samples
- Execute DNA and RNA extraction from samples
- Conduct library preparation for sequencing
- Continuous process improvement to optimize costs and success rates
- Review sequencing results to enhance experimental protocols
- Collaborate effectively with other lab technicians for customer issue resolution
- Prepare and update ISO and Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) documents
- Engage in administrative tasks supporting sales activities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in life sciences, preferably in molecular biology or biotechnology
- Prior experience in a laboratory setting
- Hands-on experience in NGS laboratory skills, including library preparation and sequencing
- Knowledge of LIMS system is advantageous
- Ability to adapt to new protocols and work effectively under pressure
- Results-driven individual with strong team collaboration and prioritization skills
- Experience working in a multicultural team environment
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
