What You Will Achieve
The Internal Medicine Research Unit (IMRU) at Pfizer is committed to finding cures for cardiovascular diseases, renal diseases, and metabolic diseases. As a part of the Cardiovascular group within the IMRU, you will contribute to developing a deep mechanistic understanding of vascular and inflammatory pathways driving cardiovascular disease.
How You Will Achieve It
The successful candidate will drive in vivo and in vitro studies to address key mechanistic and pharmacological scientific questions. You are expected to possess technical skills in rodent handling, animal models of cardiometabolic disease, as well as expertise in experimental design, and data analysis. Basic laboratory techniques in cell and molecular biology are essential.
Qualifications
Must-Have:
- BA/BS degree with 6+ years or MA/MS degree with 4+ years’ experience in Molecular or Cellular Biology, Genetics, Pharmacology (or a comparable biological science)
- Experience in rodent handling and in vivo technical skills
- Basic laboratory skills for cell and molecular biology methods
- Experience in experimental design, result interpretation, and troubleshooting methodologies
- Strong communication and organization skills
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience in rodent cardiovascular surgery
- Experience in primary cell culture
- Experience in drug discovery
Physical/Mental Requirements
Lifting, sitting, standing, walking, bending, ability to perform mathematical calculations, and complex data analysis are required for this role.
