Job Title: Scientist, Protein/Antibody Purification & Analytics
Location: Cambridge, MA
The Role
PineTree Therapeutics is actively seeking an Analytics and Purification Scientist to join a biotechnology company focusing on monoclonal, bi-/tri-valent antibodies, purification, and analysis to support early discovery and downstream process development. This is an onsite role in the greater Cambridge MA area.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analytical method development to support monoclonal, bi-/tri-valent antibodies discovery and development
- Improve purification and analysis utilizing equipment and techniques including Protein A AKTA, CEX-FPLC, AEX-FPLC affinity chromatography, RP-HPLC, HIC-HPLC and CEX-HPLC et al
- Executing analytical study and protein/antibody purification to support the programs from early discovery to late-stage development
- Troubleshoot purification processes for the purification of bi-valent and tri-valent antibodies within discovery or downstream process development
- Lead projects from discovery to late-stage development including design of experiment, scheduling, setting up, executing, troubleshooting, and writing up reports
- Write, review and revise research batch records, protocols, reports and presentations
- Train and mentor junior scientist(s)
Qualifications
- Master Degree or Ph.D.’s degree in biochemistry, chemical engineering, bioengineering, biotechnology or other related fields
- Proven hands-on experience utilizing equipment and techniques such as AKTA chromatography and HPLC
- Proficiency with column chromatography using affinity, ion-exchange, mixed-mode, and hydrophobic resins.
- Expert in protein/antibody biophysiological characterization such as Tm, deamidation/oxidation, hydrophobicity assessment, charge profiling etc
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Curiosity and proactive engagement in scientific discussions are essential.
- Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken.
