Education/Qualifications/Skills:
- Have a minimum of 3 years hands on experience with 3D tumoroid models, including experience developing new models.
- Understanding factors influencing tumor microenvironment and strategies to recapitulate in vitro is required.
- Working knowledge of immunology as related to cancer therapeutics and cell therapies (eg CAR T) and experience with tumor killing/cytotoxicity assays is preferred.
- Imaging/Microscopy experience and immunocytochemistry (ICC) staining with 3D tumoroid models is preferred.
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry or related scientific area
- Experience in one or more of the following scientific areas is desired
- Imaging/Microscopy
- Cancer Biology
- Immunology
- Tumor microenvironment
About the Team:
The In Vitro Operations Team at Labcorp Preclinical Oncology consists of a team of scientists with a vast amount of experience in cell culture, cell-based in vitro assays, molecular and biochemical in vitro assays, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and CAR T cell manufacturing. The Team works closely with the In Vivo Operations Team to coordinate client study execution and the Scientific Development Team to coordinate sales and marketing strategies. One of the main focuses of the In Vitro Operations Team is to continually develop and use new technologies and techniques to help our clients efficiently advance through the preclinical stages of their research.
Post-Doc Project Summary:
- Develop multiplexed image analysis of 3D tumoroid models, including immune cell killing assays.
- Develop co-culture with 3D tumoroid models to recapitulate the tumor microenvironment and characterize the response to targeted therapies.
- Research and develop new assays and applications related to in vitro tumor model systems and assess most critical variables for assay optimization.
- Assess in vivo translatability of 3D tumoroid assays and analysis of which endpoints are most representative of the in vivo results (in collaboration with the R&D team, responsible for execution of in vivo studies).
- Attends in vitro department meetings and collaborates with colleagues conducting commercial preclinical oncology studies on behalf of clients.
- Develop training materials and conduct training of other scientists.
- Attends relevant professional conferences and seminars.
