As a Scientist or Sr Scientist, you will join the Microbiology QC Department to perform laboratory STAT testing within a fast-paced GMP environment in support of manufacturing. You will perform testing while working onsite at a major pharmaceutical, customer site. You will perform various techniques and provide general lab support.

Job Qualification
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Medical Technology, Microbiology, or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification
- For Scientist level: Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2-4 years) or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- For Sr Scientist level: Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 4+) or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training, and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
Knowledge and Skills
- Candidate must have direct hands-on experience with Aseptic technique and work in a Biological Safety Cabinet.
- Candidate must have direct hands-on experience with the use of a micropipette
- Computer skills, such as LIMs and/or Endotoxin Endoscan software preferred
- Understanding Microbial compendial methods
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Proven ability to interpret data by performing trend analysis
- Proven ability in technical writing skills
- Ability to independently optimize analytical methods
- Proven problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Time management and project management skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative work environment with a team

Major responsibilities:
- Performs routine microbiological analysis such as Bioburden, endotoxin, sterility, etc to support product/material release and stability.
- Performs routine analysis on water samples including TOC, Conductivity, and pH.
- Performs microbial identification using gram stain and PCR based methods.
- Performs lab support activities such as sample receipt etc as assigned by management
- Accepts responsibility to complete assigned tasks as committed.
Works with others to maintain a positive atmosphere to accomplish business objectives. - Revises procedures as necessary and provides support for the department.
Support investigations or report writing - Support laboratory coverage on weekends and holidays on a rotating basis, as required.
- Understands and maintains a safe work environment for themselves and others in accordance with procedural requirements.
- Understands, implements, and maintains GMP with respect to laboratory records, procedures, and systems in accordance with procedural requirements.
